31st July 2006

Well the day of departure is almost upon me. I have been preparing for this day for at least 6 months and now it has finally caught up with me! I feel as though I am quite well prepared although I will be having to take it a little easy to start with as I haven’t done a great deal of training because I’ve found the few weeks since graduation have been full to bursting with organising things for the trip and afterwards. I now have all my visa’s sorted which is a great relief & will save a lot of hassle during the journey. At the moment I’m both excited, nervous & happy to be so close to leaving, I’m excited about what I’m going to see and do, I’m nervous about the myriad of unknown quantise between here and Hong Kong & I’m happy to be leaving because I’ve had enough of sorting of details! I’ll be leaving at about 10:30 tomorrow (01/08/2006) from South Lane, Downton.

A good friend Colin who I met when cycling Ireland a couple of years ago will be cycling with me to Prague which will be a great help as I start this adventure & get into the daily routine. I am hoping to get updates out as often as possible but they will be dependent on internet availability. As I depart I would like to thank everyone who has helped me prepare this trip and all those who are supporting during it.

Thank you!
